Daughters of the Wild is run by Alesha Tomasi and Tayla Jade—two women passionate about the outdoors
and building a strong, supportive community across New Zealand.
What started as a simple idea has grown into something pretty special—a space where women from all over
Aotearoa can connect, share their stories, and feel inspired to get out there and give things a go.
At its core, Daughters of the Wild is about connection.
We share stories from women all over Aotearoa—highlighting their journeys, their challenges,
and their wins. By doing so, we aim to bring like-minded women together, whether they’re seasoned in the outdoors
or just starting out. It’s about celebrating those moments and helping women find others
in their area who are into the same things.
Our goal is to create a space where women feel comfortable getting involved—whether
that’s hunting, gathering food, or simply stepping outside their comfort zone and trying something new.
As the community has grown, so has the vision. We’re now bringing things off the screen and into real life—hosting events, workshops, and curated trips across New Zealand. From backcountry adventures to hands-on learning,
these experiences are all about building confidence, creating lasting friendships, and having a good time with a solid crew of girls.
